Dr. Pepper Schwartz received her Ph.D. from Yale University Department of Sociology and was Professor of Sociology at the University of Washington for 50 years. She was past President of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality and past President of the Pacific Sociology Association.

She is the author or co-author of 25 books, including the New York Times bestseller, The Normal Bar - The Surprising Secrets of Happy Couples. She is presently an on-air relationship expert on the hit show Married At First Sight, which is now in its 19th season on the Lifetime Television Network, and on Netflix and Prime.

Dr. Schwartz is happily married to her husband Fred, and has two children and four grandchildren. She considers her two big wonderful dogs Luke Skywalker and Simone de Beauvoir, and her Rocky Mountain mare Just So Fabulous as part of her family as well.
